Hey, I’m Vihaan Kamath

I’m a 16-year-old junior at Greenwich High School. I run track, play sax in the school band, and when I’m not doing homework or hanging out with my younger brother, I’m usually in the kitchen baking cookies — like, a lot of cookies.

What started as a hobby became something much bigger. I’ve always believed small things — even a cookie — can create real change. That’s what led me to start Cookie for a Cause, a youth-led nonprofit helping children who need medical care, food, or education.

Thanks for visiting — and if you ever need a good cookie, whether it’s chocolate chip, sugar, or double chocolate, I’ve got you covered.

My Story: A Trip That Changed Everything

Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to do something that actually helps people. My grandma runs a small nonprofit for underprivileged kids, and I used to tag along with her to remote schools in tiny villages. Those visits opened my eyes — the classrooms were bare, sometimes without walls or clean water, yet the kids were full of joy and eager to learn. It made me realize how much we take for granted.

Those early experiences with my grandma shaped how I saw the world. By the time I was in my teens, I wanted to help in my own way — volunteering at pediatric cancer centers, blind schools, and schools for children in underserved areas.

At the cancer centers, I met families who had traveled across the country searching for treatment they could afford. Many had left their jobs, homes, and everything familiar behind just to keep their children alive. I spent time playing with kids in treatment and talking with parents who appreciated having someone my age listen.

Those experiences changed me. I saw how big the need was — not just for medical care, but for hope, support, and compassion.

That’s what inspired me to start Cookie for a Cause. I wanted to turn something I loved — baking — into a way to raise funds for kids who need it most. What started as a simple idea has now grown into a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports children battling cancer, blind children, and students in underserved communities.

Every cookie I bake is a small step toward something bigger — helping families who shouldn’t have to choose between saving their child’s life and paying their bills, and giving kids everywhere the chance to learn, grow, and dream.

This journey is just beginning — and I’m so grateful you’re part of it.
