About Me: The Cookie Crusader

Hey ! I’m Vihaan Kamath — a 16-year-old sophomore at Greenwich High School. I run track, play sax in the school band, and when I’m not doing homework or hanging out with my younger brother, I’m usually in the kitchen baking cookies (like, a lot of cookies). It’s my favorite thing to do — my stress relief, my creative outlet, and now… part of something much bigger.

I believe small things — like a cookie — can create real change. That’s what led me to start Cookie For a Cause Inc., and I’m just getting started.

Thanks for stopping by — and if you ever need a solid cookie, whether it's chocolate chip, sugar, or double chocolate chip, I’ve got you covered.

We are a youth-led, IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping children in need around the world.

My Story: A Trip That Changed Everything

I started Cookie For a Cause Inc. because I saw something I couldn’t ignore — and I couldn’t forget.

In the summer of 2024, I went to Asia to visit my grandparents. My grandma runs a small nonprofit that helps kids in rural schools — not the kind you see on TV or in big city campaigns, but tiny village schools that most people don’t even know exist. I tagged along with her on a trip to deliver school supplies, thinking it’d just be a cool way to help out.

But that visit changed everything for me.

The school barely had walls. The classrooms were dark and overcrowded. There was no clean water. The bathrooms didn’t work. And there were no books, no playground, nothing close to what I was used to seeing at home. But what hit me the hardest was the kids. They were smiling. Grateful. So excited just to be there, learning — even in those tough conditions.

It broke my heart, honestly. I kept thinking, How is this fair?

I spent the rest of my summer volunteering at more schools like that one. And when I got back home, I couldn’t stop thinking about those kids. I did more research and realized something really important: most big nonprofits are focused on helping kids in major cities. But small towns and rural areas — the ones that need help the most — often get ignored.

That’s when I knew I had to do something. I love baking, and I thought: What if cookies could help kids? That’s how Cookie For a Cause Inc. was born.

I started baking and selling cookies, and 100% of the money goes toward helping kids in underserved places. But I also want to go beyond that. I want to help kids who are facing some of the hardest battles in life.

Some of the money we raise will go toward helping children with cancer who can’t afford treatment. No family should ever have to choose between saving their child’s life and paying bills. And I also want to support blind children, by helping their schools and giving them the tools they need to learn, grow, and become self-sufficient.

This might be a small start, but I believe even something as simple as a cookie can be part of something big — if it comes from the heart.

Thanks for reading, and for being part of this journey.
